National community games awards night was held on December 7th in the Mount Wolseley Hotel, Carlow. Kerry received 6 awards. (1) Liz Twomey Duagh/Lyre PRO got award for best social media facebook page. (2) Margaret Culloty County Sec.for best web site. (3) Patricia O´Neill Fossa adult volunteer. (4) Fionn McGibney Spa Fenit/Barrow youth award; (5)Duagh/Lyre Large area award      (6) Glenbeigh/Glencar small area award

Kerry community games awards night was held o  n Friday, November 8th in the River Island Hotel, Castleisland. Míle buíochas to the 135 guests representing 22 areas that attended. Guests of honour were Minister of state for cultural & sport Mr. Brendan Griffin T.D & Mayor of Kerry councillor Niall Kelleher. We were delighted that they took time out to attend. They both spoke highly of community games & presented awards. The MC for the night was Patsy O´Connell vice-chairperson.

Entertainment was provided by Community Games national medal winners.

Solo singing Ciara Murphy Ballymacelligott & Gearoid Meahan Boherbee/Cloghers/Manor.          Gold U12 & U16 respectively.

Solo Recitation Gearoid Evans Keel/Kiltallagh. Silver U16

Group music was provided by Glenbeigh/Glencar, Silver U12: team members,                               Naoise Burke (fiddle), Siofra Griffin (concertina), Aoibhin O´Donovan (tin whistle)                       Tadhg O´Sullivan (bouzouki),  Aela Murphy (flute),  Mary Kate Smith (banjo)

Award winners

Adult volunteer 2019 is a very deserving Patricia O´Neill from Fossa area our county treasurer. She was presented with the Paud O´Leary Memorial Trophy.
