Community Games in Kerry

Kerry Community Games promotes healthy participation in sporting and cultural activities for children and young people. For over 40 years, thousands of children have participated each year and many have gone to become Kerry’s leading lights in sports and the arts.

There are currently forty-one registered Community Games areas in Kerry. These areas are organised by voluntary workers from the local community who decide which activities to run. Qualifiers from area competitions advance to the county finals where the first four in every competition receives a prize. Gold medal winners then advance to the Munster and/or National Finals to represent Kerry. Over the years, all Kerry areas have had the honour of representing their county at the National Finals and there are great memories and experiences from all levels of participation.

The success of Kerry Community Games is only made possible through the support and hard work of all our volunteers across the county. We look forward to working with these volunteers at area and county level to ensure that Community Games continues to be a source of good for the young people of Kerry.
